VENICE FILM FESTIVAL: TOP 5 BEST DRESSED & OTHER INSPIRATIONAL LOOKS
At the end of August, glamour is disembarking in Venice, at the longest-running film festivals in the world. The 79th edition will debut the screening of Marilyn Monroe’s biopic, ‘Blonde’, the awaited ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ production directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Harry Styles, and the romantic horror ‘Bones and All’ with Timothee Chalamet among other movies featuring Cate Blanchett and Penelope Cruz. Welcoming the A-listers of the industry and premiering the most awaited films, the red carpet was loaded with dazzling fashion moments.
1. ISABELLE HUPPERT IN ARMANI PRIVE
Old Hollywood glamour has been impeccably adapted to 2022. The French actress attended the ‘Argentina, 1985’ premiere in a sculptural full black look from the Armani Prive Fall 2007 collection, adorned with gold Art Deco Cartier jewelry and completed with a 60s graphic eye make-up. Contrary to the collective expectations of seeing her in the outre modern Balenciaga, Isabelle Huppert reunited forces with Armani Prive into creating a moment of atemporal elegance, an epitome characteristic of her style.
2.TILDA SWINTON IN HAIDER ACKERMANN
The actress and fashion icon stepped out in neon-yellow hair, a political statement and tribute to the Ukrainian flag. Attending the red-carpet premiere of ‘The Eternal Daughter’ she was once again dressed by her long-time friend, Haider Ackermann. In a soft liliac sequined gown, she appeared as a mystical, statuary figure covered in holographic fish scales, in perfect synergy with the color of her hairdo.
3. TIMOTHEE CHALAMET IN HAIDER ACKERMANN
The same designer is responsible for the viral Timothee Chalamet fashion moment that shook up Instagram. The young movie star walked the red carpet for the ‘Bones and All’ premiere in a custom metallic red ensemble by Heider Ackermann and contrasting black boots. The bloody shade of his backless top and perfectly tailored pants can be a flaky reference to the morbid character of the cannibalistic romance that he is starring in. One of his most daring red-carpet fashion statements!
4. TILDA SWINTON IN ALAIA
Tilda Swinton in Pieter Mulier’s Alaia was a vision of neat modernism and allure with a dose of drama, at the ‘Saint Omer’ premiere. The silver ankles and wrists silver cuffs attached to the leather mules, dress, and the fabric in constant movement outlined the sculptural shapes specific to the Maison into a portrait of dynamic elegance.
5. TAYLOR RUSSELL IN BALENCIAGA COUTURE
Taylor Russell undressed Bella Hadid for the ‘Bones and All’ premiere. And while the clear homage to Cristobal in a clash of Hypebeast and couture (more of the latter, this time) a la Demna Gvasalia was the ideal 2022 red carpet choice, Taylor should have kept Bella’s black opera gloves from the runway for an ideal, 10/10 appearance.
